As someone above pointed out, WE PROVIDE OUR OWN SIGNS, transportation, etc....we are funded out of our pockets...as one local organizer put it, "we're just three pissed off housewives sitting around the kitchen table!" - and we've all had MORE THAN ENOUGH! At our local Tea Party, we are not allowing ANY politicians to speak - though all local pols are invited to attend! We've had enough of their double-talk and lies - and we don't care which 'party' they represent! Our Founders, by the way, warned that a two party system was dangerous to the republic - see what I mean about their being way ahead of their time? they KNEW exactly what would happen!
Americans have, for far too long, allowed the Federal (and state gov.) to have their way - we've suffered what I have termed a "Collective Coma of Complacency" - and we are now, thank God! waking up and fighting back. though you'll see Obama's name on some signs, this is NOT a Republican thing..it's not a Democratic thing - it's AMERICANS COMING TOGETHER TO TELL THE GOVERNMENT "WE'RE SICK AND TIRED AND WE'RE NOT GOING TO TAKE IT ANY MORE!"
Obama is mentioned ONLY because he and his coup have taken powers that are totally opposite anything in the Constitution! He has NO RIGHT to take over private corporations...
Most of us were AGAINST the original Bush Bailouts - and we're certainly against the increasing bailouts and TARP - and esp. the budget and "omnibus" bills which are so PORK laden, it's surprising that Jews and Muslims can even legitimately READ them!
Though some have gained support and used Glenn's 912 project to help organize, many of us were organizing before that! We had our first Tea Party in San Diego on Feb. 27 - long before Glenn ever started the 912Project!
This IS the REAL THING! They are putting us down becasue they are AFRAID of us...and some government offices are now classifying us as 'domestic terrorists' - simply because we have had the courage to stand up and speak out! WE ARE NOT telling people to shoot cops or anyone else! there's been NO TALK of armed Revolution! those who talk like that have NO IDEA of what is going on...
It's about the Constitution - TRY READING IT! and if you have a hard time understanding it, read the Federalist Papers which were written to explain to the various states at the time WHY the Constitution was written the way it was...the Founders were BRILLIANT MEN - way ahead of their time...and they insisted that the rights to governance should remain with the states...very few powers were given to the Federal Government - for good reason! They KNEW that power leads to corruption and corruption leads to TYRANNY!
Learn the truth - and this is truly a case where, "The TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!"
